As a member of the Elliott & Painter team, Marie focuses on completing individual tax returns for the firm’s clients. Before joining Elliott & Painter, she spent 10 years as a tax department manager at Purpose Financial, Inc., where she handled filing the required annual reports in all states in which the company operated. These reports included financial statements, compliance, and legal issues. In addition, she facilitated filing all income taxes for the multiple entities of the parent company in federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

Before her role at Purpose Financial, Inc., she worked in business valuation and forensic accounting for 16 years. These engagements were done for the purposes of estate and gift tax planning, ESOP requirements, divorce settlements, shareholder disputes, stock redemptions, and business termination and interruption.

Marie graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. in Business Administration.
