As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at Elliott & Painter, Marcus plans and strategizes to mitigate unnecessary tax for clients. He handles year-end tax planning and the preparation and review of personal, corporate, trust, and estate tax returns. He also manages and processes payroll services and prepares and reviews monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements for clients and local businesses.
In addition, Marcus handles the preparation of review engagements and tax projections and forecasts. He communicates and troubleshoots with clients daily and provides onsite or over-the-phone software consulting to help clients resolve accounting issues.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (SCACPA).
Before joining Elliott & Painter, he worked for Jarrard, Nowell & Russell, LLC, in Charleston. He received his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Clemson University and a Master of Science in Accounting from the College of Charleston.
Outside of the office, Marcus enjoys exercising, boating, fishing, and spending time with family.
